Düsseldorf, Germany, 11 September 2026 – Metalshub, a leading platform provider for the metals and mining industry, is pleased to announce that Kymera International has upgraded its presence on the platform to Premium Supplier. Buyers can now source Kymera International’s portfolio of SIKA® silicon carbide (SiC) and SIKA® Shield boron carbide (B4C) materials directly on Metalshub.
Kymera International’s silicon carbide business was founded in Norway in 1912, with current production in Norway and Brazil. Silicon carbide’s chemical inertness at high temperatures and high resistance to abrasion and thermal shock make it an attractive material across refractories, foundries, steelmaking, grinding and polishing, fine ceramics and power electronics. Kymera International is a premier supplier of choice for silicon carbide, boron carbide and other materials, thanks to its scale, long-standing market experience, reliable supply, and consistent quality.
The material is supplied under the SIKA® brand:
SiC is gaining importance across steelmaking and foundries: while serving as an efficient heat source and deoxidiser in steelmaking, it acts as a highly effective alloying agent in foundries, promoting nucleation and thus supporting the formation of a favourable cast-iron microstructure. Its chemical and mechanical properties also make SiC widely used in refractories and technical ceramics. B4C complements the portfolio as a high-purity material for industrial, military and defence applications, available in various particle sizes and SiC composites.
“By expanding our use of and partnership with Metalshub, Kymera is accelerating its digital sales strategy and building stronger connections with customers worldwide.”
Kymera International’s quality and EHS systems operate in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001, and all SIKA® materials are REACH-compliant. In its most recent EcoVadis assessment in January 2026, Kymera International earned a Silver Medal for the fourth consecutive year, placing it in the top 15% of companies worldwide.
“We are pleased that Kymera International is expanding its footprint on our platform as a Premium Supplier,” added Dr. Sebastian Kreft, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Metalshub. “This opportunity supports our shared vision of driving commercial agility, transparency, and process efficiency across the global metals supply chain.”
Kymera International’s SiC team will be at the International Colloquium on Refractories (ICR) in Aachen, Germany, from 16-17 September 2026, at booth #01.
