Düsseldorf, Germany, 28 April 2026 – Metalshub, a leading platform provider for the metals and mining industry, is pleased to announce that Green Li-ion, a global lithium-ion battery recycling technology provider, is expanding its partnership with the platform. Building on top of earlier collaboration, Green Li-ion will now leverage both Metalshub’s Sales and Procurement Solutions to support a fully integrated commercial strategy for battery materials.
Following its successful adoption of Metalshub’s Sales Solution to market recycled lithium carbonate and graphite, Green Li-ion is expanding its use of the platform to include procurement of black mass. This development marks a significant step towards establishing a closed-loop, digital trading ecosystem for battery recycling materials, enabling greater efficiency, transparency, and scalability across both sourcing and sales activities.
Green Li-ion’s modular technology converts battery waste and spent lithium-ion batteries into high-quality cathode and anode materials suitable for direct reuse in battery manufacturing. By integrating Metalshub’s Procurement Solution into its operations, the company enhances its ability to secure critical feedstock while maintaining streamlined, data-driven commercial processes.
“Integrating both sourcing and sales within a single digital environment enables us to scale our operations more efficiently and strengthen control over our supply chain. This approach supports our mission to deliver a truly circular solution for battery materials, while responding with greater agility to evolving market demand.”
The extended collaboration reflects the continuous shift towards digitalisation and circularity in battery materials supply chains. As demand for recycled inputs grows alongside global electrification trends, integrated platforms such as Metalshub enable market participants to optimise trading strategies while ensuring traceability and ESG compliance.
“Green Li-ion’s decision to expand their use of our platform underscores the value of a fully digital, end-to-end approach to raw materials trading,” added Dr Frank Jackel, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Metalshub. “By combining procurement and sales activities within a single ecosystem, companies can unlock efficiencies, improve market access, and strengthen supply chain resilience.”
This strengthens Green Li-ion’s position as a forward-looking player in the battery recycling sector, advancing circular economy principles through technology-enabled commercial operations.
Green Li-ion is a global provider of lithium-ion battery recycling technology, delivering modular, scalable hardware solutions that convert battery waste into high-purity cathode and anode materials. The company enables battery manufacturers and waste producers to establish on-site recycling capabilities, thereby supporting a circular, sustainable battery ecosystem. With a focus on profitability and environmental impact, Green Li-ion’s technology facilitates the efficient recovery and reuse of critical battery materials.
