Düsseldorf, Germany, 26 March 2026 – Metalshub, a leading platform provider for the metals and mining industry, is pleased to announce that Accurec-Recycling GmbH, a Germany-based specialist in battery recycling, has joined the Metalshub platform to digitalise the sale of recycled battery scrap. The company will initially leverage Metalshub’s Sales Solution to offer recycled battery materials to industrial buyers. Accurec becomes the fifth battery recycler to join Metalshub’s initiative to foster greater market transparency and liquidity in recycled battery raw materials, following Green Li-ion, Primobius, Batrec, and Royal Bees.
Headquartered in Krefeld, Germany, Accurec-Recycling GmbH specialises in the recycling of Lithium-ion, Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) and Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries, recovering valuable metals and materials from end-of-life batteries and production scrap. By adopting Metalshub’s digital sales infrastructure, the company aims to expand its commercial reach, improve market liquidity for recycled battery materials, and streamline its sales processes.
The collaboration reflects the increasing importance of transparent and efficient trading channels for secondary raw materials as battery recycling becomes a critical component of the global battery supply chain. Through Metalshub’s platform, Accurec can connect with a broader network of qualified buyers while enabling structured, auditable transactions.
“Battery recycling will play a key role in ensuring a sustainable and resilient supply of critical raw materials for the energy transition. By leveraging Metalshub’s platform, we aim to broaden our access to international customers and create greater liquidity for recycled battery materials while maintaining transparent and efficient sales processes.”
In the first phase of the partnership, Accurec will offer recycled battery scrap via Metalshub, with further expansion into additional recycled battery materials, such as black mass, currently under discussion. The move aligns with broader industry efforts to develop efficient secondary supply chains for battery metals, including nickel, cobalt, and lithium.
“We are pleased to welcome Accurec to Metalshub and support their mission to scale battery recycling activities,” said Dr. Frank Jackel, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Metalshub. “Digital solutions play an important role in enabling efficient market access and transparent transactions for recycled battery materials. Together with partners like Accurec, we aim to strengthen the emerging ecosystem for circular battery supply chains.”
As demand for battery metals continues to grow alongside electrification and the energy transition, recycling is expected to become an increasingly important source of critical raw materials. Digital platforms can help recyclers and industrial buyers interact more efficiently, improving price discovery, transparency, and supply chain resilience across the battery materials market.
