Successful introduction of the auction mode on Metalshub for Lohmann's raw material purchasing

Duesseldorf, October 14, 2020 -Lohmann uses the digital platform Metalshub for its raw material purchasing to increase efficiency. Metalshub has introduced auctions as a new transaction mode and scrap as a new product category.

Together with Friedr. Lohmann GmbH from Witten, one of the digital pioneers of the German iron and steel industry, the Metalshub trading platform from Düsseldorf has successfully introduced a new transaction mode. Lohmann: “We reach exactly the relevant suppliers for our required materials.”

The family-run company, now in its seventh generation, sees in Metalshub a partner with profound industry knowledge, who has incorporated many of the industry procedures in digital processes already and who will drive the digitization of the industry going forward. Metalshub supported the rapid onboarding and training of relevant suppliers and supports the ongoing communication with an in-platform chat feature.

By purchasing ferroalloys and scrap across locations over the platform, the company continues to increase its purchasing efficiency and opens new potentials in the traceability and analysis of transaction data.
