MAT Foundry Group announces multi-year contract extension with Metalshub

Duesseldorf, May 17, 2022 - MAT Foundry Group announced today to extend its multi-year agreement for the use of Metalshub, a digital supply chain solution for raw material procurement. The MAT Foundry Group will be expanding the range of materials purchased through the Metalshub software in order to generate even more value. Since the beginning of the collaboration in 2018, Metalshub has helped MAT to increase efficiency, provide transparency, save costs and help with compliance and audits.

Press Releases

MAT Foundry Group is one of the leading engineering and manufacturing companies of cast iron products for the passenger, commercial and heavy duty vehicle markets. Within these markets, compliance is of utmost importance and every purchasing transaction needs to be easily accessible for audits. With a click of a button, all relevant and essential data that is required for these checks can be accessed. “We have seen a huge benefit when auditors, such as the IATF for the automotive industry, need to access our data as every trade needs to be conducted with an approved supplier. The IATF loved the way the data was stored in Metalshub, everything they needed was there. If there was anything done outside of Metalshub, there were always additional things we needed to chase or check”, said Nick Bolton, Senior Buyer at Eurac Poole.

MAT Foundry Group operates five production plants across Europe, located in the UK, Germany, Denmark and the Czech Republic. Before implementing Metalshub, data transparency at a group level had been a challenge. The introduction of Metalshub improved group visibility significantly and has allowed for a strategic purchasing approach while continuing to enable regional buyers in a very agile way. Adam Krosnar-Clarke, Strategic Procurement Manager for the MAT Foundry Group said  “Without the use of Metalshub it would be extremely hard to understand what each site is doing, now I have far better visibility so I can see what is currently being negotiated and what has been agreed on a group and plant level”.

The MAT Foundry Group has saved a significant amount over the last year which made it an easy decision to extend their contract with Metalshub. They have added over 140 suppliers in this time improving its supply chain resilience. This has resulted in a more competitive tendering process which in turn reduced costs. MAT’s Commercial Director Shaun Lindfield said “We run a rigorous programme for continuous improvement and lean processes and with Metalshub we achieved high efficiency in our raw materials procurement management and have saved a significant amount because of the competitive nature of our tendering process. Digitizing the purchasing processes and automation have reduced manual tasks and unnecessary process steps as well as generated significant savings. We are happy to continue our cooperation with Metalshub as our supply chain tool to serve our customers ”.

“We are proud and humbled that the MAT Foundry Group has chosen to extend their contract with Metalshub. Our solution is specialized for the iron and steel industries and therefore customized to fulfill those highly specific requirements - especially in trying times. Raw material procurement is the largest cost and hence key to competitiveness and we feel privileged in the trust MAT is placing in us“, says Chief Sales Officer at Metalshub, Robin Haeberle.
