Schmidt + Clemens introduces Metalshub as their new supply chain tool for raw material procurement
Düsseldorf, October 2022 – The world market leader in pipe systems for the petrochemical industry, Schmidt + Clemens (S+C), is further digitising its raw material procurement processes and will cooperate with the supply chain technology company Metalshub to make its procurement processes even more efficient.
With more than 140 years of experience, Schmidt + Clemens is internationally renowned for high-quality stainless steel production. The company is now using Metalshub's cloud-based supply chain solution for its global procurement of raw materials.
“The purchase of raw materials in a global company must be organized efficiently. With Metalshub, we use a tool to view and manage all our purchasing activities in one place," says Dirk Reimann - Head of Central Purchasing & Logistics at Schmidt + Clemens.
S+C operates on a multinational level with locations and facilities in more than 5 countries on 3 continents. Three sales companies in the USA, India, and Brazil as well as 30 further commercial agencies guarantee the worldwide presence of the family company. As a global producer, S+C faces the major challenge of managing and synchronizing the procurement of the various locations. A challenge that is mastered together with Metalshub. The supply chain solution offers cross-location purchasing at the group level. This in turn increases transparency and efficiency through enhanced visibility into raw material sourcing.
“With Metalshub we are able to carry out our central purchasing functions in the best possible way. The locations have access to the current contracts, while the negotiating authority remains in the head office,” adds Anna Tauber, raw materials buyer.
Metalshub's automated database speeds up processes by making all relevant and essential data needed available with just a few clicks. The documentation and storage of the data are audit-proof in order to accelerate procurement processes and reduce manual tasks.
“With the introduction of Metalshub, all information in the negotiation process is securely documented. In this way, we ensure the highest compliance standards for our company’s raw material purchasing,” summarizes Dirk Reimann.
Metalshub prides itself on offering solutions that increase efficiency in its customers' procurement processes. "Together with the Schmidt + Clemens Group, we are working to ensure that our tool improves purchasing processes and facilitates data-driven management," says Daniel Paas - Senior Customer Success Manager at Metalshub. S+C will have access to a global network of verified suppliers with related information and documents from one system, ultimately increasing the resilience of their supply chain. With a transparent market overview through the digital platform and a more competitive tendering process, S + C will not only increase efficiency but also reduce costs.
"We are pleased about the cooperation with S+C and support the innovative traditional company with our modern software solutions in the further optimization of its processes," says Frank Jackel, Co-founder and managing director of Metalshub.
