Our 2022 Agenda

"Ambition" is one of our company's core values at Metalshub and for 2022 we have big plans which we are happy to share with you.

Facts And Figures

Throughout the past year we are proud to have achieved many immense goals such as reaching almost $1B in transaction volume, closing our 11 million Series A funding, partnering with the London Metal Exchange, growing our Price Indices, expanding our team. Several steel industry giants are now trusting and working with Metalshub (Outokumpu, GMH Group, Saarstahl, Dillinger Hütter...). In 2022, we want to grow beyond expectations. Our mission is to bring change to the metals industry and we believe innovation is the way to do that. Metalshub is about people and the way people work. We offer digital solutions with a clear value adding, enabling people to work in a better way.

Let's start with Sales. Our goal is to significantly grow adoption and bring Metalshub to many more companies around the world in 2022. In order to help us do so, Robin Häberle has joined our team. With a successful career in the software industry Robin will lead our growth engine as Chief Sales Officer. Robin states "I am truly proud and honored to lead the Sales and Partnership activities in Germany’s upcoming “Tech Unicorn” - Metalshub."

Let's continue with scrap. Being one of the most important resources for metal producers, scrap is one of our 2022 core focus area. Besides lower cost, the important advantage of scrap is its CO2 footprint. It has a significant impact on the product lifecycle ESG credentials of the finished steel products and therefore helps to fight climate change. Sustainability is on everyone's minds and deep in the heart of our Metalshub mission. We will therefor be supported by a metal recycling expert, Holger Biedermann; "I will bring simplicity, directness and the simplemindedness of a scrap dealer to Metalshub". Holger will help us build our scrap logic and the way we represent scrap in our solutions.

Our customers have always been at the center at Metalshub. We pursue our objective to improve our service to our existing clients and deepen relationships and scope further. "I am thrilled at the prospect of forming strong relations with our increasing customer base and help them to succeed in the battle of digitalisation" says Christian Reuss. Christian joined Metalshub at the beginning of 2022 from Salzgitter AG.

Last but not least, Metalshub is expanding geographically and with several customers already onboard, Brazil is becoming a new focus region. To underpin this strategy Felipe Hierneis de Rezende has joined the Metalshub team to support our customers in Brazil. "I am looking forward to start this new chapter together with the Metalshub-Team and bringing this industry specific and innovative software solution to the Brazilian market. It is really exciting to participate in the implementation process and constant development of this groundbreaking technology." States Felipe.

Moreover Max Hettler will support Metalshub from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as Sustainability topic lead working on a research project with the TU Dortmund to help the metals industry become carbon neutral. His research project will also deal with the topic of Scope 3 Accounting which features another product development focus in 2022.

Last but not least, Metalshub will focus with the LME to grow in non-ferrous industries especially aluminium and copper. The software product will be developed jointly with industrial user groups whereas low carbon aluminium is expected to be made available in early 2022.
